Review: Fawlty Towers 2016
If you are a fan of Fawlty Towers you will love this. We were asked to wait in the bar whilst Basil, Sybil and Manuel invited each individual group to be seated, you then have two hours of shambolic, confused misunderstandings which are delivered brilliantly & are refreshingly funny. The actors play their roles to a tee and cannot be faulted, Manuel is endearing and fits his role perfectly whilst Sybil is trying to keep things under control with Basil’s […]
Review: Beards, Beards, Beards!
Who could have thought you could create a one hour show about beards that could keep an audience entertained throughout?? These guys from New Zealand pulled it off – with 3 talented actors and a lot of funny gags it was an hour well spent. The story is based around an 11 year old girl who desperately wants a beard, her dads say no and […]

Review: Mr Pineapple Head
14th May 2016 @ The Brunswick
My 3 year old took a while to warm to Mr Pineapple Head but when she did it was hard to keep her off the stage. Mr Pineapple Head is a silent clown, I think the only words spoken during the show were ‘it’s bogie juice’, he then made amazing huge bubbles out of the ‘bogie juice’! He performs to well matched music and has a never ending amount of props. Each skit is quite […]
Review: Flyaway Katie
Review of “Flyaway Katie”
14th May 11.30 The Warren
“Long Nosed Puppets” today took us to the extraordinary and colourful world of “Flyaway Katie”. The puppets’ stage was set with vivid props of all shapes, sizes and textures and the puppets themselves came to life through speech and songs. The puppets and indeed scenery are all home made and create a beautiful environment for the story of “Flyaway Katie”.
The antics and adventures of Katie are sure to entertain a huge range of […]
Review: The Amazing Adventures of Little Red
14th May 2016 13.30 Friends Meeting House
My first impression of the show was that this might be a bit over my children’s heads but these fears were quickly allayed. What a hilarious and quirky production based on the tale of “Little Red Riding Hood”!
The children sat on mats at the front with parents on seats behind. The children were close to the performers and joined in at various points of the show with or without invitation! Translating the words of […]
REVIEW : Monstersaurus
I took my 5 year old and 3 year old to see Monstersaurus at the lovely new venue for the Brighton Fringe, Republic, which is just a bit further down the beach from the Brighton Wheel under the Volks train track. There had been much talk around town as to whether this was the Spiegeltent but from the outside you can’t tell as its masked by a white tent but the idea is […]
