B.fest – A festival for young people, by young people. If you’re 13 – 19, or feel like you are, it’s for you.
With more than 40 events across Brighton & Hove, 13 – 19’s are taking over the city for one week from 24th till 31st May.
B.fest takes place in the last week of the Brighton Fringe and features art exhibitions and events, dance performances, fashion projects, film screenings, live bands, theatre, skate jams and a range of interactive workshops.
Featured events include:
– BITE2: Brighton & Hove Youth Poets vs MCs Slam – The cutting edge of word. Young rappers and performance poets do battle, representing themselves and their style of spoken word. Includes young people’s workshops and the THE BIG EVENT.
Saturday 24 May, 6:30pm, Venue B, Brighton Youth Centre
– B.Girl – An evening celebrating local female talent including a She Shredders all girl skate jam, female live bands, football tournaments, Zine making workshops and much more.
Thursday 29 May, 5:30-10:00pm, Brighton Youth Centre
– Guerilla Toy Hacking with Exploring Senses – A mobile interactive experience. Come along and make your own hybrid toys, then see them come alive in a huge interactive projection.
Saturday 31 May, 1-4pm, Old Municipal Market on Circus Street
The main B.fest venue for 2014 is Brighton Youth Centre where you will find Cultureground, Venue B and the indoor skate park on the top floor. There are also other venues taking part including Jubilee Library, Brighton Museum, Komedia, Access to Music, Kollectiv Gallery and there will be an outdoor stage in Pavilion Gardens for B.Outside events.
Join us at the B.fest 2014 Launch Party where we are determined to make some noise at Jubilee Library on Wednesday 21st May from 7:30-9pm. All 13 – 19’s will receive a free wristband gaining them access to B.fest events as well as the chance to win prizes and more.

B.fest is Brighton’s Youth Arts Festival, part of the Youth Collective – a Brighton and Hove partnership of youth organisations and services for 13 – 19 year olds.
