St Nicholas Church, Church Street, Brighton, E. Sussex, BN1 3LJ
Details:
Nippers is a family playgroup for children from birth to four years and their parents and carers. It takes place at St Nicholas Church each Tuesday morning in term time from 9am to 11am. Entrance is through the main church doors. Children are the responsibility of their parents/carers at all times but all volunteers are CRB/DBS checked.
Established in 2001 and run by church and community volunteers, St Nick’s Nippers provides a great free play environment. It is held in the church itself and children can enjoy the wonderful space this offers. Adults can relax with a cup of tea or coffee and chat and make friends as they watch the children play.
The space is divided into different play areas each equipped with a range of suitable toys:
• A dedicated area for babies
• Jumping, sliding and climbing
• Bikes, rockers and buggies
• Railway and cars
• Dressing up clothes
• Home corner and dolls
• Separate Art Room for painting, crafts and play dough
‘Tidy up Time’ is signalled each week by the same song (1970s ‘Blondie’ ) and adults and children help clear away the toys to make way for a closing music and singing session with our very own Guitar playing musical genius Nick.
Cost: £2.50 per ‘family’ (£1.00 after 10.30am) which includes refreshments for children and adults.
Suitable Age Range: birth to four years
Opening hours: Tuesday mornings in term time from 9am to 11am
