This weekend saw the Color Run come to Brighton. It has been before but this was my first time running it and also my first time running with both my children, quite a challenge I thought seems as my 5 year old gets ‘tired legs mummy’ on the shortest of walks!’
We couldn’t have had more fun and the tired legs were nowhere to be found. We got ourselves […]

Review: A Dog called Snoop (Tails of the Very Unexpected)
A thoroughly entertaining show.. This is a two man show with one person on stage and one looking after the puppetry behind the scenes. It is based around Snoop the dog and his trials and tribulations. There is singing, puppetry, dancing and plenty of audience participation along the way. The Brunswick is a cosy venue, you cannot be too far from the stage so you feel very much part of the show. The children sat on the floor at the […]
Review: Boxing
This was a hilarious family show which adults and children of all ages enjoyed. It starred a modern day ‘clown’, and this clown knew how to work the stage, the space, his audience and had style. Set in the fabulous Bosco theatre with a backdrop of jazzy music, he mesmerized and entertained the audience with an exciting bag of tricks. Who knew how many balloons one little boy could keep inflated at […]
REVIEW: British Airways i360
It couldn’t have been a more beautiful day to experience Brighton’s new vertical pier and the worlds tallest moving observation tower, the British Airways i360, designed by Marks Barfield Architects, on its 10th day of opening. The weather was glorious and though I was concerned about the heat within the futuristic pod itself on such a glorious day, I had […]
Review: Buncton Manor
Buncton Manor is a working farm near the beautiful village of Steyning. It is a small field with limited space so it is best to give them a call in advance to check that they have room. You can camp here in any kind of shape or form, caravan, campervan or tent and due to the fact that it is quite small […]
Review: Crackers Strikes Again by Whizz Bang Pop
The academy of creative training is a nice little venue with plenty of space and a cute little bar. It was a full house and we ended up watching some of the show split screen behind a pillar.
The friendly Mrs Atkinson was one of the first characters we met to tell us the story about how Crackers Cake Shop was opening in the town and how everybody was very excited. When […]
Review: Dr. Zeiffal, Dr. Zeigal and The Hippo That Can Never Be Caught!
The venue is intimate and you cannot help but get drawn into this funny, playful hippo hunt! The show is very imaginative and cleverly done. There are 3 characters – two hippo scientists and a hippo. The scientists are hoping to catch the hippo that has been sighted in Brighton and they demonstrate all the hippo-hunting instruments and there begins this fun, entertaining show. It has a pantomime feel to it as the children go wild with any sighting of the […]
Review: Faulty Towers The Dining Experience
I’ve always enjoyed Faulty Towers and it was possibly the reason I fell into a Hotel & Catering management degree at University so it’s quite special in my heart! So when I heard Faulty Towers was coming to Brighton, at the Thistle Hotel, I was intent on going along.
My 4 year old likes going out for lunch. It doesn’t […]
Review: Funk the Family 2015
Funk the Family was held in the north west corner of Hove Park, perfect size, not too far to walk from one part to another and enough space to feel like your at a festival! The great Clown Zaz and his circus tent had shows every hour, there were taster yoga sessions, messy play, forest workshops, circus skills, nerf battles, stilt walkers, face painting, rides and loads more. There was loads of free stuff to keep the children entertained. The […]
Review: Furze Field
Furze Field is set in the Sussex countryside just near Arundel, it is not far from Littlehampton beach and there are also a few pubs within walking distance, so a pretty handy location! It is however close to the A27 and so, depending on where you set up camp the noise from the road can be loud. I say where […]
